In InDesign, I double-click in the text box where I want to insert the image, go to File > Place, get the image, and press Open. Usually InDesign inserts the image at the blinking cursor within the text box, but sometimes what happens is that no image appears inserted and everything after that disappears.

I’m trying to paste text from Word 2008 for Mac into InDesign CS5. When I do, the text comes in as an image, not editable text. I cannot seem to get around this, and the Paste without Formatting option is grayed out. I’ve used InDesign since 2003, and I’ve never seen this, especially since it’s just text, not a graphic, in Word.

If so, place the image onto your page. Go to Object > Clipping Path > Detect Edges. Type an uppercase ‘T’ into the frame, and set the Font to Lobster Regular, Size 750 pt. 2019-03-28 · In InDesign, text resides within text frames. Text frames can be moved and resized using the Selection tool, which is located in your Tools palette. It is okay to use one font for headlines and subheadings and another font for body copy. However, if you use multiple fonts throughout your document, make sure they are not of the same style.

You can add alt text by typing it directly into InDesign: Select an image that does not have alt text. With the selection tool, select the image. Choose Object > Object Export Options. Choose a fat font and a fontsize that is good for filling with an image.

I've given mine 5mm bleed so the background image bleeds off the edge of the page. Place your background image and snap the outer edges of the bounding box to the bleed guides. Open the InDesign Transparency Palette.
